In 2013, work is scheduled to begin on the Elgin O'Hare Western Access Project. New bridges will be constructed at Rohlwing Road on the Elgin O'Hare Expressway and at Elmhurst Road on I-90. Advance work includes constructing noisewalls along the Elgin O'Hare Expressway between Irving Park Road and Meacham Road.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has given final approval for the Elgin O'Hare Western Access Project.
