Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-94/I-80)
Off-peak and overnight closures are scheduled on the North, Central, and South Tri-State Tollway for barrier wall work, electrical work, and overhead bridge work.
July 2 – Overnight Closures
- Overnight closures are scheduled tonight, July 2, for pavement patching work between 159th Street and 95th Street. One lane in each direction will close at 10 p.m. A second northbound lane between Rexford Avenue and Crawford Avenue will close at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 3.
July 3 – Off-Peak Closure
- One northbound lane will close from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, July 3, between Dempster Street and Golf Road for pavement repair work.
July 7 – Long-Term Closure Begins
- One lane on the temporary exit ramp from southbound I-294 to 95th Street will close at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 7, for pavement work. The lane is scheduled to reopen in late July.
Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88)
Overnight lane closures are scheduled on the Rebuild and Widen Projects from the Aurora Toll Plaza to Orchard Road and from Washington Street to York Road.
July 2 - Overnight Lane Closures
- Two eastbound lanes will close at 10 p.m. tonight, July 2, between York Road and Salt Creek for pavement striping operations. The lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 3.
- Overnight closures are scheduled tonight, July 2, between the I-355 north and south ramps for roadway lighting work. One lane in each direction will close at 8 p.m., with a second lane closing at 11 p.m. Two full, 15-minute closures of the roadway are scheduled after midnight. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 3.
July 3 – Off-Peak Closures
- Off-peak closures are scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday, July 3, on the cash plaza ramp to the westbound York Road Toll Plaza for earthwork. One lane on the ramp will remain open.
Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355)
Overnight closures are scheduled for roadway lighting and crack sealing operations.
July 2 – Overnight Lane Closures
- Two northbound lanes will close at 10 p.m. tonight, July 2, on I-355 over I-55 for crack sealing operations. The lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 3. The same closure is planned on Monday, July 7, following the same schedule.
Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90)
An overnight lane closure is scheduled on I-90 for overhead bridge work at the I-290/IL Route 53 interchange. An off-system, long-term lane closure is scheduled for the Reconstruct & Widen project between Newburg Road and Rockton Road.
July 2 – Overnight Lane Closure
- One eastbound lane at the I-290/IL Route 53 interchange will close at 10 p.m. tonight, July 2, for pavement repair work for an IDOT project to rehabilitate the I-290/IL Route 53 Bridge over I-90. The lane will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 3.
July 7 – Long-Term, Off-System Closure
- A long-term lane closure is scheduled on Belvidere Road over I-90 for pavement repair work. Traffic on Belvidere Road will be reduced to one lane beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 7. One lane will remain open and temporary traffic signals will direct two-way traffic. The lane is scheduled to reopen in early August.
Work Zone Safety
A 45 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect 24/7 in all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker. Keep Workers Alive – Drive 45.
