Illinois becomes the first state to complete, in less than two years, a total mainline conversion from a traditional barrier system to an end-to-end Open Road Tolling system, saving drivers an average of 10 minutes per trip.
On October 29, Tollway and local elected officials joined Governor Blagojevich to celebrate the complete system conversion - delivered as promised within two years. |
| The Tollway opened five Customer Service Centers at its Oases, bringing the number of Customer Service Centers to six. Tollway drivers now have locations systemwide in which to stop and update their accounts. Customers also may purchase an I-PASS or swap out a transponder.
In September the Northwest Tollway (I-90) was renamed the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway.
