The Illinois Tollway is resurfacing the 20-year-old section of the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355) between the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) and Army Trail Road and complete pavement repairs and resurfacing work between I-55 and 75th Street to provide a new, smooth surface and extend the life of the roadway. Roadway improvements also include rehabilitation work on 24 bridge structures on I-355. All work will be completed by the end of 2010.
Illinois Department of Transportation work will impact Illinois Tollway drivers on the north end of the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355).
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be resurfacing I-355/I-290 from the terminus of the Tollway at Army Trail Road to Thorndale Avenue. IDOT’s work will coincide with the Tollway’s resurfacing project on the Veterans Memorial Tollway. In the northbound direction, a lane drop to two lanes will begin just north of Army Trail Road in the IDOT section. Delays can be expected.
