Tri-State Tollway (I-94/I-294/I-80) Construction Information

In 2010 the Illinois Tollway is resurfacing and repairing 50-year-old roadway and bridges on the Edens Spur (I-94) and bridges at the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) and Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) Interchange. In addition, landscaping, lighting and other work is planned to wrap up Tri-State Tollway Rebuild & Widen projects completed last year. All work will be completed by the end of 2010

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) I-94 North-South Freeway Project is a 35-mile corridor reconstruction project between the state line and the Mitchell Interchange in Milwaukee County from 2009 through 2016.

In 2009 and 2010 WisDOT work will impact Illinois Tollway drivers on the north end of the Tri-State Tollway (I-94/I-294). Traffic in both directions along I-94 between Russell Road in Illinois and 75th Street in Wisconsin will be reduced to two lanes during construction. Delays are expected.

Illinois Department of Transportation work will impact Illinois Tollway drivers on the south end of the Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-80).

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be resurfacing I-80 from east of 80th Avenue to I-294 in Tinley Park, Country Club Hills and Hazel Crest. Additionally, IDOT has included bridge repairs on the ramp bridge over I-294 as part of the project. The ramp carrying eastbound I-80 traffic to northbound I-294 will close for a weekend to complete bridge patching prior to resurfacing the ramp. On the mainline, drivers should anticipate off-peak lane closures.
