Moving vehicles efficiently and safely has always been the first priority for the Illinois Tollway. In order to enhance this service ISTHA constructed a fiber optic network along its 286-mile right of way to support its internal voice, video and data network.
During the construction of this network the Illinois Tollway added additional duct and dark fiber capacity to all its routes. This duct and dark fiber is available for lease with an indefeasible right to use agreement by telecommunications companies, governmental entities, commercial accounts or others.
