today's daily report of system-wide lane closures...]
A new fourth lane in both directions has opened throughout most of the corridor. Noise wall work is ongoing through late 2009, requiring long-term and off-peak lane closures. Long-term southbound closures will restrict traffic to three lanes in a 2-mile section between 115 th Street and Ridgeland Avenue , and again in a 2-mile section between the Cal-Sag Channel and Kedzie Avenue . Off-peak closures are scheduled northbound between Rexford Avenue and 131 st Street and between Southwest Highway and 95 th Street .
Interchanges
Reconstruction work on the 95 th Street Interchange and the Cicero Avenue Interchange is complete. The entrance ramp from eastbound 95 th Street to northbound I-294 has reopened. The northbound I-294 exit ramp to northbound Cicero Avenue also has reopened.
The I-294 northbound exit ramp to southbound Cicero Avenue is closed permanently. Northbound I-294 traffic is directed to exit at 127 th Street to reach Cicero Avenue . This improves traffic flow by eliminating the weave of traffic entering and exiting northbound I-294 at Cicero Avenue .
