Jewel now charges a $2.90 service fee for all transponder sales, making the selling price $52.90. The Tollway does not receive any portion of this charge.

The Tollway sends account alert emails warning of low balance, now balance, and expiring credit card to the address registered on your I-PASS account. To help prevent these important emails from being flagged as spam or junk by your email system, please add mailer@mail2.getipass.com to your email address book.
Auto-Replenishment is the easiest way to ensure a positive account balance. When you enroll in the Auto-Replenishment Program, you pre-authorize the Tollway to charge your credit or debit card (minimum $40) each time your I-PASS balance drops below the minimum-balance threshold.

Yes. You can use your I-PASS in a second, family-owned vehicle. If you are sharing your I-PASS, you are required to move the I-PASS to the vehicle that will be using the Tollway. Also be sure that both license plates are registered to your I-PASS account. In the case of an unsuccessful toll transaction using the I-PASS in an unregistered, family-owned vehicle will be subject to toll violations and fines.
** Please note: for a $10 deposit, you may add another transponder to the same account – making it no longer necessary to move your transponder back and forth between vehicles.
Yes. You can use your I-PASS in a rental car. Be sure to mount the transponder on the inside of the windshield, next to the rearview mirror, to ensure it is accurately read by toll collection equipment*. We do not recommend adding vehicle rental license plates to your account.
*To ensure accuracy, review your I-PASS account activity regularly.
When using an I-PASS Only (IPO) lane at a conventional toll collection plaza, I-PASS users can look for the yellow and blue lights at the end of the lane on-your left side to signal your account status.
A blue light = completed I-PASS transaction
A blue + a yellow light = completed transaction, low balance - update your account
A yellow light = unsuccessful transaction, no balance - contact the Illinois Tollway
You also should review your account regularly, online, in-person, or by phone, to update information.
Another way to make sure there are funds in your account is to go through a manual or automatic lane and see if the gate goes up automatically.
If you're an E-ZPass holder, you too can use the Chicago Skyway as well as the Illinois Tollway System. *I-PASS is not accepted at airport parking lots and other non-roadway facilities that accept E-ZPass.
Save time traveling to and from the city, use your I-PASS on the Chicago Skyway. The designated I-PASS lanes are to the right and you must "wait for the gate" before proceeding.
I-PASS is not accepted in the attended lanes and discounts do not apply on the Skyway (Chicago Skyway Customer Service Number: 773-356-5555).
I-PASS is now accepted on the Indiana Toll Road! The Indiana Toll Road is in the process of converting lanes to "iZoom," which is Indiana's version of electronic tolling. Not all plazas or lanes are equipped to accept I-PASS, iZoom or E-ZPass, so follow directional signs on the road and visit the Indiana Toll Road website for more information. Passenger vehicles with I-PASS enjoy the same 40% discount as iZoom users do.
E-ZPass is accepted along the East Coast in 10 states by 20 different facilities. Rates and discounts are set by individual facilities.
I-PASS is NOT ACCEPTED at airports and other non-roadway facilities that accept E-ZPass. Participating E-ZPass agencies are listed below.

If your I-PASS is lost or stolen, call I-800-UC-IPASS (824-7277) as soon as possible. If you would like a replacement I-PASS, you pay only your deposit, and the toll dollars will be transferred to the new transponder. If the lost or stolen transponder is located and the unit is returned to a Customer Service Center, the deposit will be refunded in full.
I-PASS Assist is available for eligible Tollway drivers. If you are enrolled in the Circuit Breaker Program or Medicaid, you qualify for I-PASS Assist. Please contact the Department on Aging (Circuit Breaker) or the Department of Public Aid (Medicaid) for program criteria. Visit the I-PASS Assist section to learn more.
Dualock ™ mounting strips are available for free at every mainline Toll Plaza and the Mobil On-the-Run Stores and Customer Service Centers at the Oases. Refer to the customer service chart for more locations.
To cancel your account, you must return your I-PASS transponder. For your convenience, this may be done either in person or through the mail.
If canceling your account through the mail:
Via certified mail, send your transponder (wrapped in foil) with a letter requesting the I-PASS account be closed that also includes your return address. Your balance and deposit will be refunded within 45 days of receipt of the transponder and request. If you opened your account with cash or check, a check will be mailed to the address indicated in the letter. If you opened your account with a credit or debit card, the card registered on the account will be credited.

Upon receipt of the transponder, a Customer Service Representative will be able to return your deposit and any remaining balance on your credit card.
