Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-94/I-80)
Overnight and off-peak closures are scheduled for bridge work.
July 6 - Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One southbound lane will close between 87th Street and Roberts Road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, July 6, for a concrete deck pour.
July 6 - 19 – Off-Peak Local Road Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction on Devon Avenue under I-294 will close at 5 a.m. Monday, July 6, through late fall for bridge reconstruction work.
- One lane in each direction on 95th Street at I-294 will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, July 6, for pavement removal work. The same closures are planned daily through Saturday, July 18.
- One lane in each direction will close on Ridgeland Avenue and on 111th Street at I-194 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, July 6, for bridge reconstruction. The same closures are planned daily through Saturday, July 18.
- One lane in each direction will close on 131st Street, 115th Street, 107th Street, Southwest Highway, and Harlem Avenue at I-294 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, July 6, for bridge reconstruction. The same closures are planned daily through Saturday, July 18.
- One lane in each direction will close on 135th Street, Midlothian Turnpike, Crawford Avenue, Rexford Avenue, Kedzie Avenue, and 147th Street at I-294 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 6, for bridge reconstruction. The same closures are planned daily through Saturday, July 18.
Work Zone Safety
A 45 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect 24/7 in all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker. Keep Workers Alive – Drive 45.
