Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-94/I-80)
Overnight and off-peak closures are scheduled for pavement striping, bridge work, and electrical work.
October 14 – 15 – Overnight Lane Closures
- Two southbound lanes between Electric Avenue and Butterfield Road will close at 8 p.m. tonight, October 14, for bridge work and a traffic shift. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, with three southbound lanes shifted right and one lane shifted left.
- One lane in each direction between 159th Street and Cicero Avenue will close at 8 p.m. tonight, October 14, for pavement striping work. The lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 15. The same closures are planned on Thursday, October 15.
October 15 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
- Two northbound lanes between 107th Street and Southwest Highway will close from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, for noisewall work.
- One southbound lane between Grand Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue will close from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, for electrical work.
Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88)
Lane closures are scheduled for pavement striping and overhead sign work.
October 13 – Overnight Ramp and Lane Closures and Traffic Shift
- One westbound lane between the Fox River and IL Route 56 will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 13, for pavement striping work. An eastbound lane will close at 8 p.m., as well as the westbound entrance and exit ramps at the Orchard Road Interchange. The ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14. The mainline lanes will reopen by 6 a.m., with two westbound lanes shifted onto the newly reconstructed westbound lanes, traveling in the center and right lanes with a right shoulder. Also reopening is the westbound entrance ramp from IL Route 31.
October 14 - 29 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One eastbound lane on 22nd Street under I-88 will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, for road reconstruction work. The same closures are planned daily through Thursday, October 29, following the same schedule.
- One westbound lane between Randall Road and IL Route 56 will close from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, for barrier wall relocation work. The same closure is planned Thursday, October 15, following the same schedule.
- One lane in each direction on Eola Road between I-88 and the IL Prairie Path Bridge will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14 for asphalt paving. The same closures are planned through Friday, October 16.
Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90)
Overnight and off-peak lane closures are scheduled for pavement repairs and barrier wall work.
October 14 – 15 – Overnight Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction between Harmony Road and Shattuck Road will close at 6 p.m. tonight, October 14, for pavement repairs. All lanes will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, October 15. The same closures are planned on Thursday, October 15.
- One lane in each direction from Newburg Road to East Riverside will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 14, for barrier wall work. The lanes will reopen at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 15.
Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355)
Off-peak lane closures are scheduled for paving work.
October 15 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One northbound lane between 75th Street and Maple Avenue will close from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, for paving work. The same closure is planned on Friday, October 16.
Work Zone Safety
A 45 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect 24/7 in all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker. Keep Workers Alive – Drive 45.
