Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-94/I-80)
Overnight and off-peak closures are scheduled for pavement striping and barrier wall work.
October 20 21 Overnight Lane Closures
- One northbound lane between Dundee Road and Lake Cook Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 20, for noisewall construction. A second lane will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21. A similar closure is planned on Wednesday night, Oct. 21, following the same schedule.
- One southbound lane between the I-90 Interchange and Devon Avenue will close at 8 p.m. tonight, October 20, for guardrail repairs. The lane will reopen by 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
- One lane in each direction between Electric Avenue and Cermak Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 20, for bridge work and a traffic shift. Two additional lanes will close at 9 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, with three southbound lanes shifted left and one lane shifted right.
October 21 Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One northbound lane between the OHare Oasis and Balmoral Avenue will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, for pavement striping.
- One southbound lane between Dundee Road and Willow Road will close from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, for sewer work.
- One lane in each direction between 159th Street and Cicero Avenue will be closed from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, for noisewall work.
Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88)
Lane closures are scheduled for pavement striping and overhead sign work.
October 21 - 24 Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction on 22nd Street will close under I-88 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, for electrical and road reconstruction work. The same closures are scheduled daily through Saturday, October 24, following the same schedule.
Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90)
Overnight lane closures are scheduled for pavement repairs and noisewall work.
October 20 Overnight Lane Closures
- One eastbound lane between East State Street and Newburg Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 20, for noisewall work. The lane will reopen at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21.
- One lane in each direction between Shattuck Road and the Kishwaukee River will close at 6 p.m. tonight, October 20, for pavement repair work. The lanes will reopen at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21. The same closures are planned on Wednesday, October 21.
October 21 Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One eastbound lane from the I-39 interchange to the Kishwaukee River will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, for paving work.
Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355)
Overnight lane closures are scheduled for pavement striping work.
October 21 Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction between 75th Street and Ogden Avenue will close at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, for pavement striping and erosion control work. The southbound lane will reopen at 1 p.m. The northbound lane will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 22.
Work Zone Safety
A 45 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect 24/7 in all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker. Keep Workers Alive Drive 45.
