Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-94/I-80)
Overnight and off-peak closures are scheduled for pavement striping and barrier wall work.
October 21 Overnight Lane Closures
- One southbound lane between the OHare Oasis and Franklin Street will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 21, for barrier wall removal. The lane will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 22.
- One northbound lane between IL Route 176 and Atkinson Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 21, for excavation work. The lane will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 22. The same closure is planned on Thursday, October 22.
- Two lanes in each direction between Electric Avenue and Cermak Road will close at 8 p.m. tonight, October 21, for bridge work and a traffic shift. A third southbound lane will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, with three southbound lanes shifted left and one lane shifted right.
- One northbound lane from IL Route 22 to IL Route 60 will close at 8 p.m. tonight, October 21, for bridge work. Ten full, 15-minute closures are scheduled after midnight. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 22. The same closures are planned on Thursday, October 22.
- One lane in each direction between Cicero Avenue and 159th Street will close at 8 p.m. tonight, October 21, for pavement striping work. Two additional northbound lanes will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 22.
October 22 Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One northbound lane between the OHare Oasis and Balmoral Avenue will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, for pavement striping.
- One southbound lane between Dundee Road and Willow Road will close from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, for sewer work.
Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88)
Lane closures are scheduled for pavement striping and overhead sign work.
October 22 24 Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction on 22nd Street will close under I-88 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, for electrical and road reconstruction work. The same closures are scheduled daily through Saturday, October 24, following the same schedule.
Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90)
Overnight lane closures are scheduled for overhead sign work.
October 21 Overnight Lane Closures
- One westbound lane between East State Street and Swanson Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 21, for barrier wall removal and overhead sign work. Two full, 15-minute closures are scheduled after midnight. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 22. The same closures are planned on Thursday, October 22.
Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355)
Overnight lane closures are scheduled for pavement striping work.
October 21 Overnight Lane Closures
- One southbound lane between Ogden Avenue and 75th Street will close at 8 p.m. tonight, October 21, for pavement striping work. The lane will reopen at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 22.
October 22 Off-Peak Lane Closures
- Two northbound lanes between 71st Street and 83rd Street will close from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, for pavement striping work.
Work Zone Safety
A 45 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect 24/7 in all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker. Keep Workers Alive Drive 45.
