Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-94/I-80)
Overnight and off-peak closures are scheduled for pavement striping and barrier wall work.
October 22 – Overnight Lane Closures
- One northbound lane between Dundee Road and Lake Cook Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 22, for pavement and shoulder work. A second lane will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Friday, October 23.
October 23 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One southbound lane from the Cal-Sag Channel to 159th Street will close from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, October 23, for noisewall work. One northbound lane will close from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- One southbound lane between Dundee Road and Willow Road will close from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for sewer work.
October 23 - 26 – Weekend Lane Closures
- The left northbound lane between the Sanders Road overpass and Lake Cook Road will close at 10 p.m. on Friday, October 23, for pavement reconstruction work. The lane will remain closed through 5 a.m. Monday, October 26, allowing the new concrete to set. This work is scheduled over the weekend to minimize the impact to traffic.
Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88)
Lane closures are scheduled for pavement striping and overhead sign work.
October 23 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction on Eola Road between I-88 and IL Prairie Path Bridge will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, October 23, for pavement work.
- One lane in each direction on Bilter Road between I-88 ramps and Eola Road will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, October 23 for storm sewer work. Flaggers will be used to maintain traffic flow.
October 23 - 26 – Weekend Lane Closures
- The two right eastbound lanes between Yackley Road and Finley Road will close at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 23, for pavement repair work. Two lanes will remain open through the weekend. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, October 26. This work is scheduled over the weekend to minimize the impact to traffic.
Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90)
Overnight lane closures are scheduled for overhead sign work.
October 22 – Overnight Lane Closures
- One eastbound lane between Swanson Road and IL Route 173 will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 22, for overhead sign work. Two full, 15-minute closures are scheduled after midnight. All lanes will reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday, October 23.
- One lane in each direction from Anthony Road to Mosquito Creek will close at 6 p.m. tonight, October 22, for pavement repair work. The lanes will reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday, October 23.
Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355)
Overnight and off-peak lane closures are scheduled for pavement striping work.
October 22 – Overnight Lane Closures
- Two lanes in each direction between Ogden Avenue and 75th Street will close at 8 p.m. tonight, October 22, for pavement striping work. A third northbound lane will close at 10 p.m. One lane will reopen at 5 a.m. on Friday, October 23. The final southbound lane will reopen at 1 p.m. Two northbound lanes will remain closed until 5 p.m.
Work Zone Safety
A 45 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect 24/7 in all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker. Keep Workers Alive – Drive 45.
