Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-94/I-80)
Overnight and off-peak closures are scheduled for pavement striping and bridge work.

October 28 – Overnight Lane Closures
  • One northbound lane between Dempster Street and Willow Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 28, for bridge work. One southbound lane also will close between West Lake Avenue and Central Road. The lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 29. The same closures are planned Thursday night, October 29, as a contingency.
  • One lane in each direction on Milwaukee Avenue at I-294 will close at 8 p.m. tonight, October 28, for bridge work. Intermittent, 15-minute full closures are scheduled throughout the night for bridge beam erection work. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 29. The same closures are planned Thursday night, October 29, as a contingency.
  • One northbound lane between Willow Road and Dundee Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, October 28, for pavement striping work.
  • One northbound lane between Des Plaines River and Milwaukee Avenue will close at 10 p.m. tonight, October 28, for paving work. The lane will reopen at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 29.
October 29 – 30 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
  • One eastbound lane on the Edens Spur between the plaza and I-294 will close from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, for bridge work. The same closure is planned Friday, October 30.
  • Traffic will be shifted to the left side of the ramp carrying traffic from southbound River Road to southbound I-294 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, for ramp construction work.
Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88)
Lane closures are scheduled for pavement striping and overhead sign work.

October 28 – 29 – Overnight Lane Closures
  • Two westbound lanes between the I-294 Bridge and York Road will close at 10 p.m. tonight, October 28, for overhead sign truss work. The lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 29. The same closure is planned on Thursday, October 29, as a contingency.
  • One lane on the ramp carrying southbound I-294 traffic to westbound I-88 will close at 10 p.m. tonight, October 28, for overhead sign truss work. The lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 29. The same closure is planned on Thursday, October 29, as a contingency.
  • One westbound lane between Spring Road and IL Route 83 will close at 8 p.m. tonight, October 28, for underpass lighting work. A second lane will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will open by 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 29.
  • The eastbound auxiliary lane between Highland Avenue and the Meyers Road Toll Plaza will close at 8 p.m. tonight, October 28, for earthwork. The right lane will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 29.
October 29 – November 3 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
  • One eastbound lane between Spring Road and Salt Creek will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, for erosion control work. The same closure is planned on Friday, October 30, following the same schedule.
  • One westbound lane on 22nd Street under I-88 will close from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, October 30, for electrical work. The same closure is scheduled daily through Tuesday, November 3, following the same schedule.
Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90)
Overnight lane closures are scheduled for noisewall work and pavement repair work.

October 28 – Overnight Lane Closures
  • One lane in each direction from Barrington Road to IL Route 47 will close at 6 p.m. tonight, October 28, for pavement repair work. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 29.
  • One lane in each direction between Newburg Road and the South Beloit Toll Plaza will close at 6 p.m. tonight, October 28, for pavement striping work. The lanes will reopen at 7 a.m. on Thursday, October 29. The same closures are planned on Thursday, October 29.
  • Two eastbound lanes at Oakton Avenue will close at 10 p.m. tonight, October 28, for bridge repairs. The lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 29.
October 29 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
  • One eastbound lane between I-39 and the Kishwaukee River will close from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, for shoulder work.
Work Zone Safety

A 45 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect 24/7 in all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker. Keep Workers Alive – Drive 45.
