Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-94/I-80)
Overnight and off-peak closures are scheduled for pavement striping and sign truss work.
November 4 – 5 – Overnight Lane Closures
- One northbound lane between Bradley Road and Grand Avenue will close at 7 p.m. tonight, November 4, for sign truss work and a concrete pour. Several full, 15-minute closures are scheduled after midnight. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 5.
- Two northbound lanes between 111th Street and Southwest Highway will close at 10 p.m. tonight, November 4, for pavement work. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 5.
- Three northbound lanes from Midlothian Turnpike to 135th Street will close at 10 p.m. tonight, November 4, for pavement work. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 5.
November 5 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One northbound lane between Belvidere Road and Stearns School Road will close from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, for pavement striping work.
- Off-system closures are scheduled on southbound Sanders Road over I-294 at Techney from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, for electrical work. All lanes will be shifted to the left.
- Off-system closures are scheduled on southbound Sanders Road under I-294 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, for electrical work. The left lane and left turn lane will be closed.
- One northbound lane between Dundee Road and Lake Cook Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for signage installation work.
Work Zone Safety
A 45 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect 24/7 in all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker. Keep Workers Alive – Drive 45.
