Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-94/I-80)
Overnight and off-peak closures are scheduled for pavement striping and sign truss work.

November 5 – Overnight Lane Closures
  • One northbound lane between Dempster Street and Lake Cook Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, November 5, for pavement striping and a traffic shift. A second lane will close at 10 p.m. When all lanes reopen by 5 a.m. on Friday, November 6, three contiguous lanes of northbound traffic will be traveling on the right shoulder and two right lanes and the counterflow Express Lane between Dempster Street and Willow Road will be closed.
  • One northbound lane between Duffy Lane and Atkinson Road will close at 8 p.m. tonight, November 5, for pavement striping work. The lane will reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday, November 6.
  • One southbound lane between Electric Avenue and Butterfield Road will close at 8 p.m. tonight, November 5, for bridge work. Two additional lanes will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Friday, November 6.
November 6 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
  • One southbound lane between O’Hare Oasis and Wolf Road will close from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, November 6, for signage installation work.
  • One southbound lane between Dundee Road and Sanders Road underpass will close from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, November 6, for guardrail repairs.
  • One lane in each direction between Dundee Road and Lake Cook Road will close from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, November 6, for signage installation work.
  • One northbound lane on Sanders Road under I-294 will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, November 6, for electrical work.
  • Two northbound lanes between Kedzie Avenue and the Cal-Sag Channel will close from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, November 6, for noisewall work.
Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88)
Lane closures are scheduled for earthwork and electrical repairs.

November 6 – Off-peak Lane Closures
  • One eastbound lane between 22nd Street and the exit ramp to southbound I-294 will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, November 6, for electrical repairs.
  • One lane on the eastbound exit ramp to Midwest Road will close from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, November 6, for earthwork. The ramp will remain open to traffic.
Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90)
Off-peak lane closures are scheduled for paving work.

November 5 – Overnight Lane Closures
  • Two westbound lanes between Higgins Road and Randall Road will close at 10 p.m. tonight, November 5, for pavement striping work. The lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Friday, November 6.
November 6 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
  • One eastbound lane between I-39 and the Kishwaukee River will close from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, November 6, for paving work.
Work Zone Safety

A 45 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect 24/7 in all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker. Keep Workers Alive – Drive 45.
