Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-94/I-80)
Overnight and off-peak closures are scheduled for pavement striping and sign truss work.
November 6 – 8 – Overnight Lane Closures
- Two lanes in each direction between Halsted Street and Crawford Avenue will close at 8 p.m. tonight, November 6, for roadway sign work. A third lane will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Saturday, November 7.
- One northbound lane from Duffy Lane to Stearns School Road will close at 10 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, for pavement striping work. The lane will reopen at 5 a.m. on Sunday, November 8.
- One northbound lane from Duffy Lane to Stearns School Road will close at 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, for a traffic shift. A second lane will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 9 a.m. on Monday, November 9, with three lanes of northbound traffic traveling on the right shoulder and two right lanes. The counterflow Express Lane will be closed.
- One northbound lane between Dempster Street and Willow Road will close at 10 p.m. tonight, November 6, for signage installation work. The lane will reopen by 5 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.
- One southbound lane between Des Plaines River and the I-90 Interchange will close at 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, for pavement striping work. The lane will reopen by 5 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8.
November 7 - 9 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction between Dundee Road and Willow Road will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, for signage installation and repairs.
- One northbound lane between West Lake Avenue and Willow Road will close from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, November 9, for electrical work.
- One southbound lane between Milwaukee Avenue and Belvidere Road will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, November 9, for drainage work.
Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88)
Lane closures are scheduled for earthwork and striping.
November 7 - 11 – Off-peak Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction on Eola Road between I-88 and IL Prairie Path Bridge will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p .m. on Saturday, November 7, for grading work. The same closure is planned on Sunday, November 8 and Monday, November 9.
- One lane in each direction on Bilter Road between I-88 ramps and Eola Road will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p .m. on Saturday, November 7, for storm sewer work. The same closure is planned on Sunday, November 8 and Monday, November 9.
- The eastbound auxiliary lane between IL Route 53 and I-355 will close from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, for pavement striping. One lane at a time will close on the eastbound exit ramp to northbound I-294/westbound I-290 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for striping work.
- The right turn lane on southbound IL Route 53 at the eastbound entrance ramp to I-88 will close from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, November 9, for drainage work. The same closure is planned daily through Wednesday, November 11.
Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90)
Off-peak lane closures are scheduled for barrier wall work.
November 9 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction between I-39 and the Kishwaukee River will close from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, November 9, for barrier wall work.
Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355)
Off-peak lane closures are scheduled for pavement repair work.
November 7 – Off-Peak Lane Closures
- Two southbound lanes between U.S. Route 6 and I-80 will close from 5 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, November 7, for pavement repair work.
Work Zone Safety
A 45 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect 24/7 in all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker. Keep Workers Alive — Drive 45.
