Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-94/I-80)
Overnight and off-peak closures are scheduled for striping work and sign truss work.
November 18 19 Overnight Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction between Duffy Lane and Atkinson Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, November 18, for pavement striping work. A second southbound lane will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 19.
- One northbound lane between IL Route 60 and IL Route 176 will close at 7 p.m. tonight, November 18, for overhead sign work. A second lane will close at 11 p.m. Several full, 15-minute closures are scheduled after midnight. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 19. The same closures are planned on Thursday, November 19.
- One southbound lane from OPlaine Road to Buckley Road will close at 8 p.m. tonight, November 18, for noisewall work. A second lane will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 19. The same closure is planned on Thursday, November 19.
- One northbound lane between 111th Street and Harlem Avenue will close at 8 p.m. tonight, November 18, for noisewall work. The lane will reopen at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 20.
November 19 Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction between Sanders Road and Dundee Road will close from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, for sewer work.
Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88)
Lane closures are scheduled for signage and pavement striping work.
November 18 Overnight Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction between IL Route 31 and the Fox River Bridge will close at 8 p.m. tonight, November 18, for pavement striping work. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 19.
- Two left westbound lanes between Mill Street and Winfield Road will close at 9 p.m. tonight, November 18, for overhead sign truss work. Two right westbound lanes will close at 10 p.m. between Winfield Road and IL Route 59. One lane also will close on the westbound exit ramp to IL Route 59. The ramp will remain open. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 19.
- One eastbound lane between Finley Road and Midwest Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, November 18, for pavement striping work. The lane will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 19. At that time, the two Local Lanes will be shifted onto new pavement on the two right lanes.
- One westbound lane between the EJ&E Railroad and Eola Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight, November 18, for pavement striping work and a traffic shift. A second lane will close at 9 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 19. At that time, traffic will be shifted off the median shoulder and traffic will be traveling in the standard, three lane configuration. This work was scheduled on Tuesday, November 17, but was postponed due to inclement weather.
November 19 Off-Peak Lane Closures
- One lane in each direction on Eola Road between I-88 and IL Prairie Path Bridge will close between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, for grading work.
- One lane in each direction on Bilter Road between the I-88 ramps and Eola Road will close from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, for storm sewer work.
- One southbound lane on IL Route 53 at I-88 will close from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, for erosion control work.
Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90)
Overnight lane closures are scheduled for bridge work.
November 18 Overnight Lane Closures
- One westbound lane between I-190 and I-294 will close at 7 p.m. tonight, November 18, for bridge work. A second lane will close at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 19.
Work Zone Safety
A 45 m.p.h. speed limit is in effect 24/7 in all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker. Keep Workers Alive Drive 45.
