Adding an Authorized User to your I-PASS Account

Authorized users have full access to all account features.  Setting up access is a two-step process and must be completed by both the I-PASS account holder and the new authorized user.
 

I-PASS Account Holder Steps:

  1. Log into your I-PASS account and click on Profile.
  2. Click on the Authorized Users tab.
  3. Enter the first name, last name, and email address for the user to add authorization for.  Username is optional.
  4. Click the green ADD button to add the user.  

  1. You will receive a green success alert.  The user is now authorized.


In order to access your account, the authorized user will also need to provide the I-PASS account holder’s driver’s license number and state or their corporate tax ID, as well as the I-PASS account number or the serial number of an active transponder on the I-PASS account.  Make sure you provide this information to the user you have authorized.


Authorized User Steps:

  1. Go to www.getipass.com and click on Create an Online Account.  If you already have an online username, you may skip to step 3.

  1. Follow the process to create an online username.  Enter your personal information, read and accept the terms of use, verify your email address, set a password and a security question and answer. 

Note: The first name, last name, and email address used to create your username must exactly match the first name, last name, and email address the I-PASS account holder added to their authorized user list for access to be established.

  1. You have now created a username.  To access an existing I-PASS account, make sure the button on the left is blue.  Select the account type for the account you would like to access.  Enter in the driver’s license details or the tax ID information. Select the account identification and enter either the I-PASS Account Number or the Transponder Serial Number.  Click the green CONTINUE button.

  1. You will receive a green success alert and will be automatically redirected to the account home page.

  1. If the information you entered does not match our records for an existing I-PASS account, you will receive a red error message that the I-PASS account information provided does not match our records.  Please try again and if you continue to experience difficulty, please contact customer service for assistance and request your driver’s license or tax ID be updated.

  1. If the information you entered does match our records, however your name is not on the authorized user list for that account, you will receive a red error message that you are not an authorized user.  Please contact the I-PASS account holder and request them to add you to their account as an authorized user.

Note: The first name, last name, and email address used to create your username must exactly match the first name, last name, and email address the I-PASS account holder added to their authorized user list for access to be established.
