Illinois Route 53/120 Blue Ribbon Advisory Council
The Illinois Tollway created the Illinois Route 53/120 Blue Ribbon Advisory Council to assist in the planning and potential building of the Illinois Route 53/120 project in Lake County. The Council's Resolution and Summary Report (below) recommend that the Tollway proceed with further project development, revised scope, configuration and design elements, and propose a financial framework.
The Tollway's Strategic Planning Committee reviewed the Council's recommendations and agreed to participate in a coordinated, corridorwide land use plan led by Lake County and the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, develop an engineering concept and funding scenarios, and evaluate local, state and federal authorizations required for the project.
As work proceeds, updates will be provided through the Illinois Tollway's Strategic Planning Committee.
